Matthew Barnes

Chaplain Matthew Barnes was ordained in 2003 and has served as a volunteer chaplain in the Indiana Statehouse since 2004. He is the founder of Public Servants' Prayer, a ministry that provides prayer and pastoral care in the political arena. Chaplain Barnes has been blessed to speak to groups in more than 23 states, four foreign countries, as well as having the honor of opening numerous legislative meetings in prayer around the United States. He currently leads Legislator Bible Studies, staff studies, Chapel services, Annual Statehouse Prayer Services, the Governor's Prayer Breakfast, and Pastors’ Statehouse Days. Chaplain Barnes, his wife Miriam, and their three children reside in Indianapolis, IN.

Tim Overton

Tim Overton was ordained as a minister in 2004 by South Avenue Baptist Church. He is currently serving as the senior pastor at Kingston Avenue Baptist Church in Anderson, Indiana. In 2017, Tim became the Associate Director of Public Servants’ Prayer. He has a Philosophy and History degree from Dallas Baptist University as well as a Master of Divinity degree from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He enjoys reading, sports, and travel.

Pam Russell

Pam Russell was born and raised in England. She has served as the Women’s Chaplain of the Indiana Statehouse since 2010. Pam is a certified ACBC counselor, and prior to serving as a chaplain in the Indiana Statehouse, she Pam served for ten years as Women’s Chaplain at an Indiana correctional facility.

Pam has three published books, More Than Sobriety, Addiction: A Family Affair, and Beyond the Ballot, A Call to Pray for our Nation. Pam has also authored many Bible studies for women.

Pam and her husband Rick, were brought to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ and discipled by missionaries to the US military. Pam’s husband was active duty Air Force until his retirement on 1993. Rick has since gone on to be with the Lord. Pam has three children and eleven grandchildren.

DEBBIE MAGNUSON

Debbie Magnuson loves to serve the Lord in a variety of ways! She has a Masters of Music degree from Butler University and founded/taught the orchestra program in the Carmel Clay Schools for eight years, then homeschooled their four children for 26 years. She is the violinist for The Dolce Trio since 1981, serves as the administrative assistant for the Indiana Leadership Prayer Breakfast, teaches Fine Arts at Indiana Wesleyan University, and enjoys serving PSP behind the scenes with social media--especially Twitter. She and her husband Terry, a public school administrator and basketball official, reside in Greenwood. They are also blessed to have three grandchildren.

Sarah barnes

Sarah Barnes has been helping the ministry in the Indiana Statehouse since she was 3 years old. She has helped Public Servants' Prayer in many ways over the years. Most recently she has been our marketing director and assisting in photography and web design. Her hobbies include playing and coaching sports as well as photography.

JENNY BLANKENSHIP

Jennifer Blankenship has served with Public Servants’ Prayer as the administrative assistant since 2009. Prior to joining the ministry, she had worked for several years as the office manager at her home church where she excelled in administration and graphic art. She is grateful to partner with Public Servants’ Prayer and use her gifts to advance the Gospel in the political arena while continuing to serve her church. She resides on the northeast side of Indianapolis with her family and is an aunt to five nieces and three nephews. She enjoys photography, baking, cycling, and discipling women in their relationship with the Lord.
